Family Violence Prevention Council Recognizes Three Individuals For Their Outstanding Work

Three individuals are presented awards by the Broome County Family Violence Prevention Council for their work in preventing family violence. The awards were given to individuals who provide direct service to prevent, intervene or treat family violence. Each of these persons has shown exceptional dedication and commitment in their work with individuals or families impacted by family violence.

William Trass from The Children’s Home, was awarded the “Open Arms Award” for his work with families to prevent child abuse. Florence Pacifico, from the SOS Shelter Inc., was awarded the “Healing Heart” Award for her dedication and work with victims of domestic violence. Suzanne Thrasher, an employee of United Health Services, was awarded the “Clasping Hands Award” for her work in the prevention of elder abuse. Each award was given at an educational event dealing with each aspect of family violence.

The Family Violence Prevention Council has a mission to reduce the incidence and severity of family violence in Broome County.
