Accounting:
The Accounting Unit is responsible for various fiscal functions of the Agency. This includes the issuance of all benefits and checks to and on behalf of eligible clients. The processing of all cash received, including Rep. Payees and repayments to the Agency, through the AS/400 and CAMS system. The processing of Revolving Fund and petty cash disbursements. The preparation and filing of reports and claims for Federal and State reimbursement. The fiscal monitoring and claiming of all Agency grants.
Mail Room:
U.S. Postal Services mail, intradepartment and interdepartment mail is sorted on the fourth floor. Mail is then delivered and picked up throughout the building.
Operations:
Operations office is responsible for daily building related issues. Areas include, but are not limited to, safety, heating and air conditioning, parking lot, cleaning, elevators, telephones, mail and package delivery, scheduling moving, room set-ups, recycling and document destruction. Schedules and assigns the aforementioned work. Schedules automobile fleet for staff use, follows through on regular maintenance, coordinates projects with the landlord, Department of Public Works and contractors as needed. Operations orders agency cleaning supplies, follows up on restroom cleaning, etc. Tracks and maximizes fleet utilization and security.
Personnel:
Personnel's responsibility includes the maintenance of each individual employee's personnel file, which includes completing Personnel Data Records for new hires, separations, step and longevity increments, etc. Personnel also processes a bi-weekly payroll. In addition, personnel is responsible for record keeping functions associated with vacation, sick leave, leaves of absences and other pertinent information. Personnel coordinates Civil Service regulations and procedures with the Broome County Department of Personnel.
Resource Unit:
The Resource Unit assists all staff in obtaining information regarding client income and assets. Verification of wages, benefits, bank accounts, insurance and property ownership is done by the Resource Unit. The Resource Unit is also responsible for TRCA's (Tenant Responsibility Claim Agreement), inspections and initial approval of TRCA claims. The unit also maintains and updates Third Party Health Insurance (TPHI) information on clients and indigent burial processes for payment.
Security:
This division is responsible for the Security of the buildings, property and employees. Security monitors and patrols the lobby, offices, eligibility & interview rooms, and exterior lots. In addition, employee badges and parking permits are validated. Access to DSS building is strictly monitored and enforced.
Security responds to incidents as they occur and documents in reports the circumstances and outcomes (ie. Disturbances, evictions, injuries, motor vehicle accidents, etc.).
Incidents are investigated, resulting in charges when appropriate (ie. Aggravated Harassment, Criminal Contempt, Disorderly Conduct, etc.). Security provides assistance to DSS employees in need of Restraining Orders and stands-by during interviews with problem clients.
Agency security system is activated and deactivated to monitor use of building during normal working hours, as well as after hours.

System Analysis, Strategy and Controls:
- Develop software applications for the AS/400 and DSS owned Personal Computers.
- Perform "first call" problem analysis and resolution for user problems with the AS/400 and/or DSS owned computers.
- Assist DSS personnel in understanding software and hardware resources.
